International Students
MacMurray College welcomes students from countries outside of the United States who wish to earn a high-quality undergraduate degree. The following information will help you through the process of applying to MacMurray College, how to reserve your spot in the class once you decide that MacMurray is right for you, navigate the student visa process (if you desire to study under an F-1 visa), and become aware of the resources and support services available to you once you are on campus.
How to Apply for Admission as an International Student
At MacMurray College, your ability to succeed is not simply a matter of your secondary school academic record, but instead a composite of your academic preparation, the potential contributions you will bring as a student to enhance diversity of thought and culture on our campus, your desire to participate in various student organizations, your ability to effectively read, write and converse in English, and how well you will be able to navigate both your academics and social life while studying at the College.
Accordingly, we ask that you provide the following information in the application process:
- Complete an application for admission. You may use the MacMurray application for Admission or the Common Application. You do not need to file both, and there is no fee for you to apply using either application.
- Take and submit official test scores from one of the following:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 500 (paper) or 170 (computer-based) is required for the TOEFL.
- International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP). A minimum score of 3.5 is required for the iTEP.
- IELTS score of at least 6 Band.
- A certified bank statement showing you have adequate financial support to meet costs for tuition, room, board, books, personal goods and travel for at least the first year of study. If you receive a merit-based scholarship from MacMurray, you will only have to show support for costs beyond the scholarship you are awarded.
- Submit official transcript, leaving certificate, International Baccalaureate diploma (IB), advanced level exam certificate or other official document showing you have completed your course of study. You must provide us with an English translation.
- You are not required to submit SAT or ACT test scores to MacMurray. You may include official test results as part of your application if you have already taken the test, and these will be considered along with other information you provide.
The application for admission is submitted online. All other documents must be certified as original and sent either by international courier (FedEx, UPS, DHL) or scanned and sent to MacMurray College as an email enclosure.
